Field Food and Country is a fieldsports and countryside film platform, created to celebrate the beauty and diversity of the British countryside and document the lives and passions of those who live, work, shoot, hunt or fish there. The idea was first floated in 2021, during a discussion between three friends; a gamekeeper and two filmmakers. We felt that the intimate and overlooked relationship between country pursuits, wild food and cooking could be shown through a new lens; thoughtfully crafted documentary films which will build into a library that captures all of our collective passion for the outdoors, fieldsports and wild food.

We’ve been shooting films for Field Food and Country for four years now, a journey that’s taken us to some of the Britain’s wildest and most exciting places. Our cameras have traveled to wintry East Anglian estuaries, verdant Welsh valleys, the rich Kent countryside and even the snow-capped Wicklow Mountains of Ireland. The most exciting thing is that we’re just getting started and there’s so much more yet to document.

It’s been our privilege to film with icons of the real countryside, documenting their deep love for country pursuits, their craft, their artistry and their activism. It’s our mission to showcase everyone and everything that accompanies and supports fieldsports, field craft, foraging and cookery. If you sign up to support our platform then you’re also supporting a vision that unites all the people and all the pursuits that thrive in the country… so come on a journey into the very heart of the countryside with us.
